TW
Guitars
|
| I
met Teddy Workman at 2010 IBMA. I was looking at Audie
Blaylocks new Redline model guitar and was introduced
to Teddy. I started visiting with Teddy about his guitars
and our festival. As we talked for a while, we decided
to create a special Back 40 Bluegrass Park guitar. Teddy
is another great instrument builder that I have come across.
Just like Paul Hopkins and Rob Bishline, Teddy Workman
also stands out in quality and precision in his instruments.
Teddy is one who takes much pride in his guitars.
Teddy
started building guitars in 1986 with a local lutherie,
Dale Crouser. As time went on he got into repairs and
finish-work and drifted away from building. Then in
2006, he got back into the art using all hand split
adirondack bracing, red spruce tops, and all hot hyde
glue on the bracing to improve tone and nitro cellulose
lacquer finish on his guitars. Teddy builds two standard
modelsTW18 and the TW28. Most of his work is custom
pre-ordered guitars.

Bishline
Banjos
|
| Rob
Bishline is the owner and manufacturer of Bishline banjos.
I met Rob at our 2009 Festival and was introduced to his
instruments. Bishline Banjos were very impressive to me
as a musician. The craftsmanship of these instruments
was awesome and the sound followed right behind. I was
really impressed with these banjos all together. For more
information on these banjos contact Rob@bishlinebanjos.com. |

Morgan
Music
|
| I
met Alvin Deskins with Morgan Music in 2005 at Starvey
Creek Bluegrass Festival-just south of Lebanon, MO. After
we got acquainted, I started buying small things, such
as strings, straps, picks and tuners. Then I needed a
new flattop guitar. Alvin had just what I wanted, a 1978
Martin D-35. When I bought that guitar, we started a relationship
that I would not trade anything for. Alvin is one the
most honest dealers I have ever delt with. After 4 years
of trading mandolins, fiddles & guitars, I have decided
to deal with Morgan Music alone. You can visit Alvin at
our festival or at morganmusic.com. |

DP
Hopkins
|
| I
met Paul Hopkins through Morgan Music in 2008. The first
time I talked to Paul was in September of 2008 when I
purchased a banjo that had been slightly fire damaged
in an unfortunate event at Morgan Music. Paul was insistent
that I let him fix the banjo before I played this banjo
in public. This showed me that Paul not only built an
awesome instrument but he also stood behind them. As I
got to know Paul more I found I was correct. Paul is awesome
at building banjos. He puts his heart into each one. Paul
is a great person; every banjo that leaves his shop is
special to him. It has his name on it. Just like in the
good old days his name means something. He holds to the
values the same as a hand shake and your word is all you
need. Paul Hopkins to me is more than a banjo maker. He
is a good friend and I know anyone that owns a D P Hopkins
Banjo will agree. I highly recommend these banjos as a
banjo player myself. For more information visit www.dphopkinsbanjo.com
or www.morganmusic.com. |
